Winter break goal achieved!

Concertina Sonatina

It's shitty midi, but whatever. The music's there. I just have to actually learn how to play it.
Writing music for the 10-button Anglo Concertina is sort of hard, because it can only play in diatonic C and G (and their relative minors), so it tends to get boring really fast. I tried to rely on interesting harmonic structure to keep it fresh. Any suggestions are appreciated.

This house may be far away from everything, but damn are there some nice views.

I think I have listened to "Last Christmas" by Wham! about 7 times in the last 24 hours

I got a new digital SLR as an early christmas present, and I love it so much.



Liz Miller and I are planning probably one of the greatest things ever. EVER.



My dad put up the christmas lights across the street again this year and I enjoy them immensely.

At work the other day, my friend Evan and I started talking about that show Pimp My Ride.
And when you get chosen, they ask you what you're into and then make your car reflect that. So if you want to be a music producer, they'll put a bunch of recording equipment in your car, which is totally useless (it always is).

He asked me what I would have them do, and my first choice was to turn Suzy into a roving Partysuzy, with giant confetti cannons, strobe lights, and a bullhorn that plays nothing but "We Like To Party" on repeat.

Upon further consideration, I decided that as soon as they notified me that I'd been chosen, I'd deck out my room and life in Leonardo DiCaprio memorabilia and pretend to be a superfan, so that maybe they'd paint my truck to look like the Titanic with a picture of him winking and "DeCaprio Forever" emblazoned on the side.


My boss looked at me really oddly after I said that.

Every morning, I get out of the shower, dry off my hair, wipe off the fogged glass, and open the medicine cabinet.
I reach in for my toothbrush and notice the little spool of floss just hanging out, minding its own business. Instantly, I'm reminded of all of the things my dentist told me, all of the statistical facts about how if I don't floss monsters will start living in my closet or burglars will steal my teeth while I'm sleeping. I remember all of the pictures she showed me of gums that look like they've been mercilessly tortured in POW camps, of old people who look like toothless zombies that probably would need dentures in order to feast on the brains of the living. And most importantly, I remember that flossing only takes about three minutes.
And so I think, "Yeah, I could floss.
Maybe tomorrow."

I recorded a Jimmy Diggs prank for prankdialer.com and apparently it's a big hit.

Sonatina No. 1

It's a string quartet I've been working at off and on for some months. This stuff's really time consuming. Also, since it's programmed strings it doesn't have the cool articulations and proper crescendos and such.

This week has totally been hell.

I hope the Colquhoun family will someday understand their need for good, affordable plumbing.

Do it.
